How many years have you been in the industry?

Javier: At this company, it’s been 3 years.

Are you an early bird or night owl?

Javier: I like early. Early bird.

What were your first jobs?

Javier: In the company the first job I did was working on roofing.

What’s the biggest misconception about your industry?

Javier: I don’t know, I worked on storm windows and a little bit of carpentry and then into window tuning. I painted for a bit too. It’s been fun in this company. If you want to learn, this is the perfect company, you can do anything. Other companies focus on one spot. Here you can do a lot of things. Window tuning I like the most.

What advice would you give your teenage self?

Javier: One thing I know, I like to work. I like to do better and better. My first job was in a restaurant, then I went into baking. I was a really good baker. Then I was working in the deli doing delivery and then cooking.

What’s the one thing people don’t know about you?

Javier: What people don’t know about me – I like to dance and I’ve met some famous people, like J-Lo, LL Cool J, Mike Tyson. My last job was in a steakhouse restaurant where I was a butcher – worked there for maybe three or four years. That was really fun.

What’s the best compliment you’ve ever received? Javier: Hmm, I don’t know. I think the way I live and have experiences. It’s weird, I was working in a tire shop and was replacing tires for those semis and machines for the farms. I really liked that job. I was really good there. A lot of people ask me what job I liked the most and it was the tire shop. I wanted to own my own, maybe 10 years ago. The job was a challenge, but it wasn’t hard for me. The little wheelbarrow tires were difficult.
