We started by setting up dust protection and floor covering. After, we removed the damaged section of ceiling including any backer or lathe that was either insufficiently intact to hold new plaster or which showed signs of mold. Next, we installed new backer as needed, shimming to the appropriate plane. To recreate the texture of the ceiling we created a sample board for the client to approve of and then applied a plaster/joint compound to create and blend with the surrounding ceiling area. Finally, we primed the repaired area and painted the entire sunroom, with enough coats to achieve full coverage.
