Any wood found to be rotten and deemed not too far deteriorated…
Any wood found to be rotten and deemed not too far deteriorated on casings, sills, windows or decorative elements was addressed using Abatron Wood Restoration 2 Part Epoxy repair solution. This process removes all deteriorated wood, consolidates the wood with a liquid epoxy and is then followed with an epoxy putty. After the putty had set, we sanded and shaped it to match the existing structure. Epoxy restoration is highly successful and considered a permanent solution.
On casings, windows and decorative elements where paint is readily peeling or flaking it was thoroughly scuff sanded and blended into larger intact sections as necessary. Any loose trim was refastened, any failing caulking was removed/replaced or filled where cracking, and any loose or missing glazing was removed/ replaced.
To finish everything off, all openings were primed and painted with two coats of premium exterior latex to match the existing.
