Thoughtful Craftsmen is the Milwaukee Area’s premier historic restoration company. We
specialize in the restoration of older homes, working on many of our local architectural gems.
Restoration carpentry requires general framing and finish skills, with a knack for problem
solving. Typical projects include replacing original moldings, performing epoxy repairs, repairing
windows, rebuilding porches, soffits, frieze boards, built in gutters, and generally guiding clients
as they maintain their homes. We help clients make their homes what they want them to be,
while maintaining the historical qualities.
Comfort at heights is a must! This job may be especially appealing to carpenters who are
looking to get off the framing or trim-running treadmill while using your knowledge and skills on
some of the finest homes around.
We will only consider applicants who send a resume and cover letter explaining why you think
this position would be a good fit for you. References appreciated. We prefer candidates who
have at least 5 years of well-rounded carpentry experience, but will consider highly talented and
motivated individuals with less experience. Basic hand tools required. Having your own power
tools preferred. Having a truck or van with a ladder rack is a plus. Pay is competitive and based
on experience.
