Name: New Asphalt Shingles with Copper Flashings

Problem: The asphalt shingles on the main roof needed to be replaced, as well as the rubber roof on the dormer.  

Solution Provided: We started by removing 1 layer of existing asphalt shingles on the main roof. On the dormer we removed the existing rubber membrane.

Starting on the dormer our team installed new fiber board underlayment and flashings. Then we fully adhered 60 mil EPDM rubber membrane and installed a new drip edge around the perimeter. Once finished we sealed it with EPDM flashing tape.

On the main roof we removed all of the old roofing vents and flashings. Then we applied Grace Ice and Water Barrier to the bottom 3 feet of all eaves, valleys and gutter lines. For all of the shingle roofing surfaces we applied new 30# felt underlayment. Next we Installed new aluminum flashings in valleys and at roof to dormer wall intersections tying into new roofing shingle with a copper Gutter drip edge and chimney flashings. To complete the roof we re-shingled the main roof with Certainteed Landmark dimensional shingles installed with galvanized roofing nails.
